Allianz Birmingham reveals GWP landmark | Insurance Business

The Birmingham branch of insurer Allianz has reasons to celebrate and brokers to thank.

Allianz has revealed that the West Midlands office, which covers all classes, has hit the £100 million GWP (gross written premium) milestone for business with local intermediaries. It cited the strengthening of partnerships with brokers as an essential factor in the branch’s success.

“Our committed team provides a first-class service and has worked hard to successfully build effective relationships,” commented Allianz regional manager for Midlands and South West Jason Howes. “Our local broker partners continue to be very supportive and we’d like to thank them for their support.”

Last year the Birmingham branch was named as one of three locations where Allianz would have a dedicated team of specialist construction underwriters. The office covers the likes of motor trade, P&C, fleet, and engineering.

“Our local branch network remains key to Allianz, and it’s fantastic to see another one of our branches hitting the milestone of £100 million GWP,” said Sarah Mallaby, director of broker markets.

Also contributing to the branch’s stellar performance was its location at the heart of Birmingham’s financial district.
