Collinson Group names underwriting and business development heads | Insurance Business

Collinson Group has new executives in charge of underwriting and business development in its accident and health team.

The insurance and assistance provider has snapped up technical pricing professional Marianne Stevens from Bupa Global for the head of underwriting role, while Michelle Elmore will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities in international territories as head of business development. The latter most recently held a senior position at tech start-up Ada Health.

“I am thrilled to be joining a company that is able to combine traditional international health insurance knowledge with an impressive track record in designing and delivering bespoke client solutions,” commented Stevens, who has a deep understanding of the iPMI market. “In a world where instant access, greater security, and comprehensive solutions are expected, Collinson is uniquely positioned to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients.”

Elmore, meanwhile, described it as “a really exciting time” for firms in the healthcare space to be offering contemporary products especially by harnessing technology. At Ada Health she used technology in developing personalised and connected healthcare propositions.

“The most agile and forward-thinking of these [companies] have the opportunity to revolutionise the way health insurance is delivered and consumed,” said Elmore. “Collinson is in a fantastic position to incorporate a variety of solutions – from loyalty to travel experiences and personalised insurance products – to address today’s new international healthcare consumers.”

Collinson commercial director Lawrence Watts cited the potential for international health to play an important role in continuing to support growth across the firm’s insurance and assistance division over the next three years.

“These appointments come at a key time for our business as we continue to deliver innovative products and services that enhance and extend our healthcare offering,” he said. “I am sure Michelle and Marianne will prove invaluable to Collinson’s future prosperity and wish them every success in their new roles.”
