Best Back-To-School Cars for Students

It’s almost that time of year again, back-to-school. Love it or hate it, when August rolls in there’s no hiding from the fact that the summer is almost over and soon students will be back in class. It’s also at this time of year when students, and parents of students, consider the transportation needs of getting to class, home, and back again.

Top 10 best cars for students going back-to-school

To help students and parents narrow down their choices, U.S.-based Kelley Blue Book (KBB) has announced their picks for the 2017 Top 10 Back-to-School Cars. These are cars that KBB says are affordable (a plus for parents) but are also appealing to students.

However, safety is important too and, where applicable, we’ve identified the vehicles that have won a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). These are designations awarded to vehicles based on how well occupants are protected in a crash. We’ve also identified which of the vehicles on the KBB list are recommended by Consumer Reports for their overall performance, reliability and safety.
