Bill 150 will have its parliamentary committee

After bill 141, the insurance industry is again invited by the parliamentary commission. The provisions of bill 150 will be on the agenda of the Committee on public finance on 30 January and 6 February.

Twelve organizations will be heard. On 30 January, theAlliance for a stronger brokerage strong, Intact Insurance, the Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec (RCCAQ), the Corporation of the insurers direct de dommages du Québec (CADD) and thecanadian Association of insurance companies of persons (CLHIA) will be able to speak to the Commission and to the minister Carlos J. Leitão.

Omnibus budget

The bill 150 is an omnibus budget, which includes measures of budgets 2016 and 217. Its main measure is to compel insurance brokers to offer four quotes from different insurers to their customers. Otherwise, they will be regarded as agents.

Bill 150 also addresses other issues, such as insurance of condominiums, the transfer of policies in life insurance, as well as the distribution of group insurance.
