The members of the executive committee of theUnion of municipalities of Quebec (UMQ) have recently approved the contract with BFL Canada in the framework of the program of property and casualty insurance for nonprofit organizations (NPOS). This contract is the result of a public tender of the UMQ in order to obtain brokerage services.
Over 4 100 organisations in approximately 300 municipalities across Québec will benefit from a insurance coverage of full damage.
Annual premiums reduced by 31 %
Thousands of local associations (recreation, culture, philanthropy, support for youth and seniors, etc), and contribute to, often on a voluntary basis, to the dynamism of their community, will also benefit from a insurance coverage of damage extent and adapted to their needs. Damage insurance includes property, liability, and the liability of directors and officers, and the accidents of the directors are unpaid and volunteers. Coverage for machinery breakdown and crime is also offered as an option.
A professional analysis and independent of the bids received under the invitation to tender also stressed that NPOS participating in the programme will have their annual premiums reduced by 31% compared to their current bill.
