Former prime minister of New Brunswick, Bernard Lord arrived at the head of Medavie last September, in the development of the strategic plan 2018-2020, pegged to a 10 year-vision.
Entering in this plan, the chief executive officer of Medavie seeks the integration and coordination of health care. He urges the public system and the private sector to multiply the meshes to achieve savings by encouraging the coordination of care.

Born in 1943 in Nova Scotia, Medavie is a private non-profit corporation with two subsidiaries, Medavie Blue Cross , and health Services, Medavie , and a foundation, the Foundation Medavie health. Since then, Medavie has not ceased to evolve towards expansion pan-canadian health services and health insurance.
Originally, the insurance activities fall soon after under the licensed Blue Cross and Medavie more diverse then in individual insurance in the Atlantic provinces. Created by the suite, health Services, Medavie is very common in six provinces that choose to offer its ambulance services, including in Nova Scotia, 20 years ago. Ironically, it was Bernard Lord, which has made the decision to use the ambulance services of Medavie 11 years ago, when he was premier of New Brunswick.
Medavie Blue cross administers federal and provincial programs. For example, its partnership with Veterans affairs Canada (VAC), the canadian armed Forces (CAF) and the royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP) has existed for nearly 30 years.
