Yvon Charest receives the Order of Canada

Yvon Charest, president and chief executive officer ofiA financial Group, has been appointed to the Order of Canada as Officer. It is the right honourable David Johnston, governor general of Canada, who awarded him this honour, on the 25th of last August at a ceremony at Rideau Hall.

In a press release, the governor-general pointed out that, under the leadership of Yvon Charest, Industrial Alliance has experienced remarkable growth that makes a significant contribution to the economy of the country. Patron accomplished, Mr. Charest is involved heavily with charitable organizations and encourages the business community to do the same, can we also read.

Created in 1967, the Order of Canada, one of the highest civilian honours in the country, recognizes outstanding achievements, the remarkable dedication of a person towards the community or an extraordinary contribution to the nation. Nearly 7 000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.
