The Board of Governors is a State Bar’s policymaking body. Governors offer two-year terms.

Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 will elect governors in 2017. District 2 (Milwaukee) elects seven; District 9 (Dane) elects three; and all other districts elect one. See a district map.

Young Lawyers Division (YLD) positions accessible in 2017 are a president-elect, treasurer, and 5 house of directors’ positions, commencement Jul 1, 2017.

The treasurer position is a two-year term. The president-elect serves for one year, afterwards serves as boss and past president, any for one-year terms. The positions on a house of directors are two-year terms.

The president-elect also serves as boss for a one-year tenure and past boss for a one-year term.   • Apply to Run for a Senior Lawyers Division Position: Members of a Senior Lawyers Division (SLD) are speedy to run for an open house of directors’ position for 2017. Each position is a two-year term.
